Many Members already know Nicholas as the warm, steady presence greeting them in Sophie’s Library, helping them find their rhythm for the day, or solving the small problems before they become big ones. In his new role as Operations Manager at TolHouse, he brings the same calm reliability, attention to detail, and genuine care for Member experience that have already made him an essential part of the House. Nicholas understands that TolHouse works best when every interaction feels intentional and every space supports both productivity and connection. His instinct for hospitality, paired with a quiet leadership style, helps anchor the culture we’re building.

Below is a short conversation to help you get to know him better.

TolHouse has so many distinct spaces, each with its own energy. When you think about where you feel most at home here, which space comes to mind and why?
“I would definitely say Sophie’s Library. Not only does it house a humble collection of books, generously donated by our Members, but it serves as the main entry into the House; the space where people come through and often have their first interaction with us. This allows me to be their first “Good morning”, the person who finds them a space to work for the day, or simply provide direction within the House.”

People tend to identify as morning people or night people, but it’s often more personal than that. When do you feel most yourself: sunrise or midnight?
“Sunrise over Midnight 24/7/365. I have always been an early riser and mornings are important to me because that is when the world feels the most still and I get to begin my day from a place of peace.”

Art shows up in everyone’s life differently. Whether it’s music, food, or film, there’s usually one form that really speaks to who we are. What resonates most deeply with you?
“If one considers cooking to be art, as I do, then just that. There is not much else as satisfying than pouring love and energy into a meal that not only looks appealing, but also provides nourishment to myself and the loved ones I share it with.”

Please join us in welcoming Nicholas into this new chapter. We’re excited to see him shape the daily rhythm of TolHouse in ways that strengthen community, elevate our operations, and help more Members feel at home here. Wishing him clarity, confidence, and continued success in the work ahead.
