TolHouse isn’t just a place to gather—it’s a launchpad. And lately, the momentum of our Members has been unmistakable, stretching from national airwaves to the core of city leadership. This summer, three Members have stepped into major roles that don’t just reflect their personal growth—they signal progress for Toledo itself.

Rob Pasker: Making History in Housing

This July, Rob Pasker became the first Toledoan ever named president of the Ohio Realtist Association in its 73-year history. The appointment is historic, but for those who know Rob, it’s hardly surprising. A licensed broker, housing counselor, and community advocate, Rob has long worked to empower Black homeowners and ensure fair housing practices across northwest Ohio. Now, at the helm of the state’s leading Black real estate organization, he’s focused on more than legacy. He’s here to reshape it. From advocating for transparency in real estate wholesaling to forging new partnerships with organizations like the Fair Housing Center, Rob’s leadership is about building both equity and impact.

Balance Founders Go National

Meanwhile, Founding Members Hochan Jang and Prakash Karamchandani, co-founders of Balance Pan-Asian Grille, took their mission to the national stage with a CBS News feature that aired coast to coast. Their story? Classic TolHouse: ambitious, imaginative, and unafraid. With no restaurant experience and almost no startup capital, the duo built a regional food brand rooted in values—fresh ingredients, sustainable systems, and culturally inspired cuisine. Now, with in-house microgreen farms just steps from their kitchens, they’re pioneering a scalable farm-to-table model that’s feeding cities and changing the conversation around what fast casual can be.

Candice Harrison: New Chapter, Same Drive

And Candice Harrison, a TolHouse Founding Member known for her work in communications and public service, was recently named President-Elect of the Toledo Rotary. One of the largest and most active Rotary chapters in the country, the organization now gains a leader whose roots run deep in civic engagement and equity-focused leadership. With her poised presence and deep local knowledge, Candice continues to be a bridge between Toledo’s present and its potential.

TolHouse Members don’t wait for permission to lead. They chart their own course—and bring their communities with them. These latest moves aren’t anomalies. They’re proof of what happens when ambition meets environment.

The next chapter is being written here. And the city is taking note.
